On August 14, 2021, a witness in Wadsworth, Ohio reported hearing two distinct “whoops” coming from the southern part of the town. The witness was sitting outside watching the Perseid meteor shower when the sounds sent all the hair on their arms and neck to stand up. They immediately went inside to search for similar audio examples of what they heard and found recordings of alleged Bigfoot that were eerily similar to the sounds they heard. Coyotes were also heard shortly after and then stopped howling.
During an interview with the witness, they stated that they were a twenty-plus year law enforcement officer and appeared credible and honest. They estimated the distance of the sounds to be roughly 0.5 miles away and described them as longer in duration than any owl sounds they had ever heard. The witness also provided an audio recording of a “scream” from September 21, 2022, which several neighbors also heard and discussed.
While there is not enough information to draw a finite conclusion, this investigator believes that it was likely something not easily explained based on the witness’s physical reactions and the compelling audio recording provided. The witness was instructed to continue to record in the evening and keep their ears open to their neighbors for any further incidents. As a professional cryptozoologist, it is important to keep an open mind and gather as much evidence as possible to further our understanding of cryptids like Bigfoot.
